Spanish Place Card with question prompts

(0)
A place card for pupils to complete and color. A great way to get to know their names during half term 1 and for them to get to know the 3 first questions: como te llamas, cuantos anos tienes and donde vives? There is space on the back of the card for them to write their answers so they can always see them.

French Easter Board Game Paques

(6)
A board game to practise vocabulary for Easter. Pupils roll the dice and say the French for the picture they land on. Extra challenge given as they progress through the game and have to describe the pictures and give opinions. Great lead on from my Easter PowerPoint. Great speaking and listening practice. Increased enthusiasm and engagement. Adds dimension of competition. Could be used as a reward for early finishes. This resource is available as part of an Easter bundle, saving you money.

One Page Learning Mat: the Basics

(7)
A fantastic support for the first few lessons. Print and laminate and use as a learning mat to boost confidence amongst new learners in the classroom. Great differentiation technique when dealing with mixed ability classes. Use it as a speaking frame / a writing frame / a learning mat / a revision aid / an extension tool. The PDF is in colour but looks nice printed in greyscale as well. I usually print and photocopy in greyscale but put the colour version on the IWB.
Letter to Father Christmas in French
betsybelleteachbetsybelleteach

Letter to Father Christmas in French

(2)
A cute French letter to Father Christmas: pupils simply write their name and age and address and ask Father Christmas for 3 things. You could provide a list, get them to look up in dictionaries or draw/stick images depending on age group and ability. To save printing costs (and extend the length of the activity), opt to display the letters on the IWB and pupils copy the model letter, filling in the gaps.
French Easter Puppet Show- An Egg Hunt

French Easter Puppet Show- An Egg Hunt

(4)
A simple story with 9 paper puppets for pupils to cut out, colour and label. Pupils cut out, label and glue the puppets (option for teacher to use pre-coloured or black and white templates) Teacher reads the story (email support available for non specialists who are unsure of pronunciation) Pupils listen and each time they hear a character they place them on the scenery mat. The story tells them exactly where to position each paper puppet but the PowerPoint acts as a visual support if hey need it. Options to differentiate- suggestions given.

French: the basics Follow Me Cards 'I have Who has'

(4)
35 unique cards covering the basics including greetings, first questions and responses, days of the week and months of the year. Distribute the cards. The person with 'DEBUT' begins and asks the first question 'Qui a bonjour?' this prompts the next person who has the phrase 'J'ai bonjour' written on their card. They shout this out followed by their own question, 'Qui a au revoir?' The game continues like this until the last person ends with 'La Fin!' Excellent for vocabulary consolidation and to inject energy into the lesson. Gets pupils interacting and speaking and listening. Brilliant for revision lessons for all year groups.

Instructions to cross off words they know, circle and look up ones they don't. Bottom half is an 'odd one out' table prompting them to decide which is the odd one out and be prepared to explain why they made that choice.

A mini book about a monster. All body parts are labelled in French. Pupils can colour and fold the mini book to create a mini book about a monster and all of the parts of its face. Pupils could then use it as a mini dictionary as they discover the topic and and possibly create their own monster.
French Interactive Quiz: Greetings Robots Theme
betsybelleteachbetsybelleteach

French Interactive Quiz: Greetings Robots Theme

(1)
Interactive Quiz to test pupils on their understanding of greetings and simple questions and answers. Multiple choice answers, if they select the correct answer they are taken to a ‘tres bien’ slide, incorrectly they are taken to an ‘oh non’ slide and given a chance to choose again. It is great for a whole class quiz (you say the options and they pop hands up), or to out one pupil in the spotlight/hot seat or as a physical tap and go activity where they line up and make their selection then go to the back of the line. You could use a classroom timer to inject extra challenge and competition.

30 cards each with a different number between 1-30. 2 versions included: French only. French with digits for an easier game. Teachers notes included explaining how to play and when to play for best results. Distribute cards and the pupil with 'debut' begin and asks 'qui a cinq'. Then the player with 'j'ai cinq' shouts this out and their question and so on until the last player shouts 'La fin!'

betsybelleteachbetsybelleteach

French Interactive Quiz: Easter Joyeuses Paques

(0)
Interactive powerpoint multiple choice quiz. The first slide is a grid of 12 numbers. A pupil comes to the front and selects any number. This will take them to a slide with an image on and 3 possible answers. If they choose correctly they are sent to a ‘tres bien’ slide; incorrectly sends them to a ‘on non’ slide and automatically rteurns them to the question to have another try.
Quel animal French Quiz

Quel animal French Quiz

(0)
Starter? Classroom talk? Such an engaging resource- my pupils can't get enough of this activity. In pairs pupils do the quiz and find out what their ideal pet is. In the target language they ask things such as, 'tu aimes caresser les animaux?' and 'tu veux mettre ton animal dans un cage?' to reach a conclusion. They LOVE it. But it is more than just a hook. The activity can be manipulated- pupils can use the structures within the quiz to produce a complex answer to the question 'as-tu un animal?' with a response such as 'oui, j'ai un animal, j'ai un chien car je préfère les grands animaux. (Obviously this will need some scaffolding perhaps in the form of a writing frame but how refreshing to bask in the joy of the final outcome!)
One Page Learning Mat Les Descriptions

One Page Learning Mat Les Descriptions

(0)
These 'all on one page' learning mats go beyond the standard vocabulary you might find in a textbook or PowerPoint presentation. The language is authentic, up-to- date and relevant including phrases such as hair extensions, false eyelashes, man bun as well as the usual basic stuff. Use as a speaking frame / a writing frame / a learning mat / a revision aid / an extension tool. The PDF is in colour but looks nice printed in greyscale as well. I usually print and photocopy in greyscale but put the colour version on the IWB.
One Page Learning Mat: les animaux

One Page Learning Mat: les animaux

(0)
Use as a speaking frame / a writing frame / a learning mat / a revision aid / an extension tool to teach animals. This writing frame goes far beyond the typical 'J'ai un chien qui s'appelle...' and includes sentences in the perfect, imperfect, future and conditional tenses. The PDF is in colour but looks nice printed in greyscale as well. I usually print and photocopy in greyscale but put the colour version on the IWB.
